I think it is just put in with adhesive. The trim is part of the gasket holding it in. You need to see if your installer will have this or you will have to purchase it also.

Had mine replaced several years ago and the installer used a dewalt sawzall modified to allow removal of the old shield around the dash area. I had a long flat blade that would get between the two area without damaging the dash. It was a modified tool that someone sells just for this is about all I could get out of him.....

The tool is from Equalizer and cost me over $700 bucks a few years ago.My suggestion is to get a glass guy that has done it before. Installing a windshield must be done correctly. If not you could have leaks, or worst case (in an accident) you may not be kept in by it. The best tool to use as a beginner use wire (like a guitar string) one person inside one outside. The only thing that should be removed are the wipers and cowl, however it can be done without removing them. Hope that helps.

Replacing it is like replacing many others. Just make sure if they use power tools for removal there careful for to damage the car. I use to use piano wire. takes longer but never had to worry about anything getting damaged. Also make sure they use enough sealer and install it carfully so there are no leaks later.
