soooo my buddy just told me he's going to look at a car on saturday, he wont tell me what it is, but he says that stock it will keep up with my car....

i have a 99 formula A4, slp lid, slp exhaust, LT's, 228/228 cam, tune, new 4l60e tranny with 3500 stall, putting down 360 rwhp and equal torque

only hint he gave me is that gm makes it, im thinkin a gto or g8.... i cant think of what else could run with me, if they even could, any body have any ideas?

If it's stock, the older vette doesn't stand a chance. I run them all the time on I-55 and they only pull away a little @ over 140. Aerodynamics !!
A vette with the LS3 is about all that will take you stock. The mods you gave should equal you guy's. There is only one way to find out. Be safe!!!!!!!!

By older i mean anything without an LS7. So i guess it would be a g8 or gto then

well he just told me, its a G8 GT, but i checked pontiacs site and it says they have 361 hp to the motor, and 5.3 second 0-60, which im pretty sure is right around wat an ls1 runs stock

man, those things run mid 13's with a really good tailwind. judging by the mods you listed in your original post, he's going to be one disappointed SOB when you guys do get to run

G8 pushes 402RWHP. I don't think that he is a full second faster than the LS2 motor.

the G8 also weighs a LOT. it doesn't really matter what the weight and the HP are though, i've seen them at the track and they run pretty consistent high 13's. that right there is what it all boils down to. with the mods listed in the original post, i'm guessing his car is easily in the 12's

how is that? the pontiac site says they only have 361 to the motor...

i found a test of an 08 G8 GT by MotorTrend,
they say that it has:

361 hp/ 385 tq
6 speed auto
wieghs: 4096 lb
0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 mile in 13.8 seconds @ 102.8 mph

gtp = 400+

the gtp didn't come out till late fall, I believe.

You said he got the GT not the GTP I would think that you've got him either way, even if your Formula dosent make 400 hp it also dosent weigh 4000 lbs. and dont forget you have an aerodynamic advantage.
