    2000 Trans Am

    Always wanted to know this........

I was just thinking today. Since they don't make our cars anymore (trans am) or they don't plan too anytime soon. If we upgrade (example: the cd player) or modify (eample: the rims, intake, exhaust etc....) does it de-preciate the car from what it's worth compared to stock? Since they are technically "antiques". Just wanted to know what you guys thought about the issue.
2000 Arctic White trans am, ws6 hood, ws6 air box, slp lid, slp smooth bellows, slp loudmouth exhaust, shift kit, rebuilt trans, LS6 intake, 3.73 gears, Shaner S3 p/p throttle body, and a tune . SFC. C6 ZO6 rims 18" in back 17" in front. Drilled and slotted rotors.

just keep the stock parts so in 50 years when these cars actually start appreciating in value you can put it back to stock

Stock will always fetch higher re-sale value then modified. Believe me I've lost over $20K in mods in another car, this babies staying STOCK, has nothing to do with the re-sale I'm just fed up with modding problems.

    Wow. 4 miles?

I have been debating this issue. I have a 2002 WS6, M6 silver in color. The car has 25,xxx miles on it, and I am the second owner.

The car is in mint condition, I only need to fix 1 ding to make it absolutely perfect. I ALWAYS MOD my cars, and I would like to put a lid/exhaust...etc etc.

My father says to keep the car stock, and the mileage low since it was one of the last t/a's made. Do you guys see the T/A's (especially 02-last year) appreciating at a high rate in 10-15 years? I am not sure.....

I think only the rare optioned WS6's, Hawks or other special edition ones will be worth much. The base T/A's and normal WS6's won't be worth much more than what they are now. I'd think the Formula WS6's would be worth more than T/A WS6's also.

I bought mine to drive and to experience it. that's priority one.

However, from following these forums,I've determined there are fewer TA's every year. Especially during foul weather.

Will this make their value go up? Dunno, but that's not reason I have one.
it would be a bonus, though.

In the meantime, I'm going to drive, and enjoy the SOTP effect.

I don't think mine is a special one so it's getting modded and driven. Better yet, enjoyed.

I plan on putting at least a 500,000 before i fully rebuild it then put it back... my truck has over 450xxx and shes due for restore.

but if you have only 4 miles on that type of car.. put it underglass... no joke...

I have other investments, I didn't buy it as an investment, I know 40 years down the road I'll kick myself, but I actually really really wanted this car since I was 16, and could never afford to own one.

I only have the summer to drive it anyways(4 months or so), but to get behind the wheel of the car is worth more to me than $$$ any day.

    I love you guys! *tears*

yeah, Im with you. If you tried to keep that car with very low miles it would eat you up inside till you just had to take it out for a spin. I dont really care about the miles now after it hit 50k last weekend. I plan on keeping it for a very long time and modding the hell out of it. These cars are meant to be driven!

I know the feeling of not wanting to hit 50K. I'm looking at hitting that in another 5k. That will be a sad day for me, but I don't really care either.

I have people telling me to stop driving my CE because it's at 21k. I'm not one to get satisfaction out of just staring at something.
