Airbox Cutout
Does anyone know about the air vents on the front of the trans am, i was wondering if that little wall behind it can be taken out for more air coming in, does anyone know how to remove it? thanks

go to www.installuniversity.com, click install documents, somewhere toward the top of the page is 'free ram air'. I have done this myself and it's kinda cool. works with a bit of a difference, and it's free.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
somebody did it and it was a terrible hack-job. Honestly, you're not going to see any kind of advantage, so save yourself the trouble man.

not much for chopping the metal, but that plastic piece is what I cut under the airbox, it's not going to make it a race car, but it helps I've noticed. it's your car though, and I thought about it a long time before I did it. you should do the same. you can take anything off, but putting it back on is harder once it's gone.

I'm guessing that you are talking about the little piece of plastic that is actually inside the ram air hood behind the two grills.
Not sure if it would really make a difference but plenty of people take them out. Just drill out the rivets holding it in if you really want to

I haven't cut anything out of the hood. I cut some out from under the airbox. I don't want to cut the metal, there is a black plastic piece between the radiator and the bottom of the air box, you can't see it with it on, but it didn't look like it had a great purpose there. plastic in the hood? mines metal except for the screens in the front.

the little "wall" behind the grills he mentioned in the first post may well be metal and not plastic, I never really thought to check :P
either way, taking it out still requires drilling the rivets

yeah, I didn't cut take out any rivets, I just clipped it a bit. It was a plastic part for me. But I'm not sure how everyone else's is going to be between models. Don't take my word for anything, look at your own car, I just got bored the other day.

When I had my WS.6 I removed the hood baffles. As said you just drill out the rivets. I'm sure it gets pretty much nothing.
