Additional Ram Air from Liscense plate??
Hey guys, I believe everyone can learn from their elders. In this case, I believe we can learn something from the vettes. There's a mod for the c5 that includes taking the front liscense plate, cutting a hole in it, and cutting into the bumper behind it. You then put a metal screen behind the hole in the liscense plate. The air then goes through this hole, straight up to your cold air intake. (without going into rain and hydrolock nonsense, yes you buy a second liscense plate for this so you can put the original on in the rain). ANYWAY, is it possible, that this can be done for our cars? where air would go through the liscense plate, to the rad shroud, and up to the air lid? kinda like the slp tunnel thing they have but this is more of like a secondary ram air system. Any thoughts? Here's a pic of what it would look like.

pointless.....to much bracing etc in there, for it to truly work you would have to majorly modify the underlying structures of the front,....even then its not worth it for all the work....and that huge screen on the front is ugly as sin

This is the second thread this week about modifying the front of the car to bring more air in. Just for kicks, I posted up a goofed pic in response to the other thread to see what would happen.
As noted above, the gains would be minimal at best. If you want more air, go buy a centrifugal and leave the front end alone. It is absolutely badass the way it is.

it's more out of curiosity sake, i did it to my vette and i noticed some gains, but on those you dont have to do much but cut a hole in the bumper.

Probably not worth the gains, but it is common to cut that out and remove the fog lights if you run an intercooler for turbos/superchargers.
