    99 firebird steering wheel movement

Hello everyone, there is this odd looseness on my steering wheel. Unsure as to what it might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a short video:

    Thumbs up

Mine does the same thing, but just barely. There's a write-up about this problem at another site I found because I was wondering the same thing. Mine just goes up and down, though, but yours looks like it goes a little to the side. Might be something different. It's caused by getting in and out of the car and using the steering wheel to support your weight, which I was doing till I noticed the give in the column.

I'll figure out the PM system here and send you the link in case you haven't found it already. Not sure if we can post them in here.

Edit: Well, I guess I can post it because it's in here. Here's the link:

Thank you. I have yet to get a chance to take the steering column apart. Work, work, work.

Not a problem. It bugged me at first, but if I put the steering wheel in the full down position I can barely notice it. After reading that thread, I wish you luck. Last column I took apart was my '69 Stang's, but I've never tried one with an air bag. Sounds painful. Cheers!
