80 mph?
So I was going down one of the state roads here in Florida taking my girl to prom when I decided to floor it, so I got up to 119 mph (cause it's a V6) and then it finally wouldn't go any higher. But that's beside the point. When I was around 80 mph, my car started to jump, like the engine was turning on and off. It did that 4 times and finally quit. Sorry, it's kinda hard to explain but do any of yall know what's going on?

I don't think the gov would kick on at that speed, but if your breaking up like that you should definitely have it checked out by a mechanic. Something like that happened in my parents car and it turned out to be some wires that melted on the manifolds and every time we hit a bump or it moved it would ground out and do the same thing. Does it do it any other time or just that once?

I had the same problem with my last Firebird and I had the Plugs and wires changed,in my case itcleared the problem. Also, the v6 is set by the factory to top out at about 118. You may want to slow down the ticket costs a bundle!!.. ;-(

Daughters 94 3.4L just topped 152mph on the mustang dyno. Not sure it could ever actually do that, but it can on the dyno. No funny business at 80mph...

Great, i did not think the 3.4l could get to 152 but that was on a dyno not much wind
resistance and the front wheels are not in the factor.

I guess I'll just have to spend some quality time with the engine and try to fix the problem, cause I hate to say it, but I'm addicted to speed
Thanks for all yalls input (except for the people ragging on my car)

If you like the v6 stick with it. There was a girl in a magazine that had 700hp v6... You never know.
