    6-speed

    will a 6-speed bolt up to a v6 in a 93up firebird

    I think it will fit because I think the bellhousing pattern is the same. The only concern I would have would be the sensor wiring

    It might fit, but unless you were swapping to like a 4.66 rear ratio, it'd be a waste of time. I doubt any N/A V6 has enough torque to push the car at any speed in 6th gear.

    It will not work. The bolt pattern on the block is not a standard SBC pattern.

    i know i`m changing the subject but why did gm not put the 4.3 in f-bodies

    Probably due to cost. The 3.4 was so much cheaper for them at the time and they had to keep costs down to compete with the Rustangs.

    A better question would be why didn't GM put the 4.3 Turbo engine from the Cyclone/Typhoon in a few limited edition early 4th gens, either a Trans Am or Formula model?

    Looking back on the stats of the Limited Edition, 20th Anniversary 1989 3.8 Turbo Trans Am, a next gen 4.3 Turbo would have been a hot ticket.

    An LT1 killer, methinks...
