Kinda close to the house a guy has put up a 2002 WS6 for sale , and finally I have found a 6 speed .. OK here is the question.. i had a 97 so I kinda know what to look for in the cars but it was a auto .. So what type things should I look for in the LS1 and the 6 speed to make sure it is good to go..??? it has 70k miles ...

Headlights grinding, window motors slowing or not working, ttops leaking, door panel cracks, driver dear wear, 3rd gear grind, hard to get into reverse or sticking in a gear, piston slap, rear end whine, power antenna raising and lowering, sail panel bubbling, hood clearcoat peeling, power steering or oil leaks, smoke on start up or under load. Those are just some common TA ones and some general auto ones. If its only at 70k miles I'm sure its pretty clean.

My 02 has the bubbles on the sail panel. What causes it to happen and can anything be done about them...Was there ever a recall for it.

Short answer: Recall has long expired. It is the factory adhesive under the panel. The only fix is to replace the panel with a new piece, or an old one that pre-dates this type of adhesive. My understanding is that there is a company making re-pops now.

Just make sure its not leaking oil from the motor or tranny, make sure it runs good. The car is 10 years old, youre going to have the common f-body problems like cracked panels. Make sure the clutch isnt slipping, doesnt have any exhaust leaks, the rearend isnt leaking, radiator isnt leaking. Anything that you could possibly use to drop the price of the car. Definately make sure it doesnt smoke too bad after a good run. That could be something serious.

I don't know if it's in the sticky already (I believe it is), but make sure when you turn the key to the "on" position, all of the lights light up, including the SES light.

Check the oil, coolant, and power steering fluids too. Make sure there is no cross contamination between them.

+1 and once you drive it you should be able to tell. I drove a 20k mile 01 SS and within 5 minutes i could tell it was a pos that had sat too long and never been taken care of just left to rot.
