G'day and welcome. And yes, these cars take very well to modding. It can be hard to stop though. Just ask the majority of us how we know.

I believe the WS6 exhaust pipes are 3" (I could be wrong). Do you have headers? I've got long tube headers and a mild cam with cut-outs and it sounds amazing. I definitely recommend it. My check engine light isn't on, but the previous owner may have taken care of that.

my car is stock this is the first thing i would do then headers and exhaust or would it be better to just skip the cutout and go for the other option first?

I would go with headers first. If you go with cut-outs do you really need to sink a bunch of money into the exhaust? Headers + cut-outs= plenty of sound and power gains.

so what headers would be a good choice to get i guess i will go with headers plus cutout. what power gains should i get and will the check engine light go on with that and if it does how do i get it to go off. so it's 2.5" for sure?

Most all long tube headers will get you in the neighborhood of 25 horsepower on our cars. Stainless is your best choice, but it is kind of pricey. I recommened that you also invest in a set of Bosch P/N 13111 O2 sensors for the swap. They have a nice long harness and will reach the LT's without any problems.

Most aftermarket headers have 3" collectors. You can then match it with a 3" y pipe, I would put your cutout at the end of the y pipe then match it up to a 3" catback. You can have a tuner delete your rear o2s as well.

Go longtubes, off road y pipe, and keep the stock catback. Stick a cutout in the I pipe, there's a sweet spot for it under the passenger seat. Then add a DMH E cutout to the cutout and you can open/close it with a switch from the cabin.

Could also be the tires. My rear tires are summer tires and they spin like crazy during this time of the year. They break loose in 4th gear.
