    Chris,

I've been looking for a 2000/01/02 for a while now (still looking!!!)

I have seen a good few 2002 cars appear for sale at very strong prices,
    sporting pretty low mileages....

Whether they get the sale is, of course, another thing and whether they
are dealer or private will have a bearing on the price.

Color and trans will dictate to some extent but i would expect it to be around
$ 18-22k. with 25k on it. Are they worth this i wonder? Certainly out of my range

I will be interested to learn more here....

My car will have to be a 2000/01 i reckon, with around 40-50k on the clock.
This will weigh in around $13-15 and hopefully the seller will have the all
    important "wiggle room"

    Trev.

13 months ago I bought my 3rd F-body. I paid 20k for my '02 SS with 16,300 on it. It was immaculate in every way but even so that may still be a little steep for many people. I was willing to pay it because of it's condition, and how badly I wanted it. I also do not ever intend to sell this car, and it will basically just be a financial black hole for me anyhow so in the end I could've saved a couple grand, maybe 5k on the initial purchase at best, but it would not have been as clean a slate to start with as I have, I regret nothing.

Thanks Trev. I've been haggling with him for a few days and it looks like if I wanna pull the trigger I can get him down to 17,500. I'll let u know if I end up doing it. Gotta get the wife on board!!

    Chris,

The annoying thing is that if i never had to import my purchase to
the UK i would be able to go to the price you are able to!

Like i say, we would all, i expect, like to know a little more about the car?

Also, is it a private sale??

As far as getting the wife on board... hope that goes well!!!

I have to say i would still have my last lovely WS6 if it had not been
"for the input of a woman"! She was (still is) a Kiwi and i really did
consider going with her to NZ and sold the car as i was being brow
beaten to convince i was serious about going..... It all went horribly
wonky and i was down one very nice Trans Am .

    Damn, you live and learn!!

    Keep us posted.

    Trev

Hey LS1 community, I'm going Friday to test drive and look over a 2002 WS6 with a 6-speed. I'm looking for a little help on what to look for specifically on this car. Are there any known problem areas to focus on or any specific question I need to ask. Basically, what should I look for to either say 'yes or no' to buying the car! Thanks

Check out any mods that have been done and decide if they're good or bad. The only issue I really had with my 2002 WS6 was the rear end. I'm the original owner and replaced mine at about 20,000 miles with a Ford 9". I'm around 28,000 now and no other issues for me. Then again, a lot of parts have been replaced with updated items in the last 11 years.

There is a sticky on both what a car is worth and what to look for when buying an F-body in the General Help Section and TransAm Sections of the forum. Can't link you from my phone or I would.

    2002 CETA

Saturday I purchased a 9k mile 2002 Collectors Edition 6 speed with all original documentation. The car is truly flawless, paid $21k. Had to travel half way across the country to get it. I could have found one cheaper, but condition is everything to me. Glad to have my first 4th gen after 3 3rd gen's. Though I am having to get used to how slow it is compared to my '89 V6 Trans Am

    2002 WS6

    Hey guys,
I just picked up the WS6! It's a 2002 WS6 6-speed that is all stock but the exhaust. It has 26000 miles on it and was garage kept. It looks and drives like a new car. I ended up paying 17,000 for it and am not disappointed at all. It is metallic silver with t-tops and I love it. Even though I did have to drive 200 miles to pick it up. I'm very happy, so far, with my purchase and I thank everyone who helped out. I'll keep posting on this 'LS1' forum, it rocks.
