2.0L Engine Swap ?
I was just thinking with the rise of gas prices for a daily driver has anyone ever thought of taking a V6 Firebird or Camaro and swaping in a 2.0 Ecotec engine maybe even with the Cobalt SS supercharger ?

Y not, but y not just get a honda civic for alot less... or a 240SX... or a car that you dont have to swap a motor in...

I was just thinking out side the box & doing something different , besides it would be RWD ( rather than FWD ) , somewhat lighter than a v6 car , still have around 200 hp ( with a supercharger ) with a 5 or 6 speed manuel ( possibly even the new GM 5 or 6 speed autos ) & be looking good doing it rather than driving a honda .
It would take some work but is`nt that what hotrodding is all about ? Maybe not from a totally performance view though .

Thats not my idea of hotrodding.
Hotrodding doesn't include really good fuel mileage.

I just sold my 2004 Saturn Ion Redline (exact same 2.0L Ecotec supercharged engine as the Cobalt SS) last year and I only got like 21 MPG around the city. I had trouble even getting 30 MPG's on the highway. I sold my 1994 Trans Am GT to get something with better gas mileage and was pretty disappointed to barely get in the low 20's. I think I got 19 MPG on my 1998 A4 Trans Am with mostly city driving the last time I calculated my gas mileage. Plus, the Redline was just as expensive to maintain with premium fuel and full synthetic oil required. Here is a picture and yes I was not a fan of the spoiler.

I see no point in switching engines when 6 Speed ls1 can get better fuel economy than most other vehicles.
