    1999 trans 5.7 no power

When I start the car and take off slow the car has no power like there is no fuel or too much fuel. But if I take off slow and hit the gas hard it goes. Has anyone else had this problem if so what was the fix. The car has only 61000 kms but has been sitting for 2 to 3 years. Thanks

Clean the MAF. That's a first. Drop the fuel line, and replace all the fuel. Add an octane booster, run that new tank of fuel all the way out. If you still have a prob, get back to us.

Agree with cleaning the MAF. Use CRC cleaner to clean it. I'd also recommend replacing the fuel filter. You can check the fuel pressure at the rail , you should have around 58 psi. Check the vacuum hoses for possible dry rotting and leaks. You could also have the car scanned for possible codes. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Let us know what you find.

fuel filter changed, MAF cleaned, throtle body cleaned, scaned no codes. Could this be an EGR valve causing this. I only use 91 octane gas.

I believe that an EGR that is stuck open can cause issues in off idle throttle transitions, but should not have any real impact in the higher rpm's. Been a while though since I have had to play with an EGR problem on a car. Can someone please confirm this?
