    14.068:(

so i ran dads GTO at the track and couldnt even get it into the 13's
    best ET 14.068 best MPH 103 best 60' 2.229 best R/T .401-.-
it has 3" xpipe and headers...but it had no 02 sensors and has a slipping clutch
need to get the 02 sensors in before it drives again...dont want to burn up the rings or anything>.<....atleast i beat the honda!

yeah that sucks. The GTOs are a tad heavy but they should definitely still be well into the 13s, especially with headers.

i HATE the 3.42's it runs out of gear RIGHT before the 1/4 mark so you have to shift into 4th or you red line and the throttle shuts off on you-.-..on the last run i pulled it down into 4th and the knob came off...then on the way home my fiancee threw up on the car. needless to say it was a bad night for dads car
im just hoping i can get into 13's with the 02 sensors and improve my 60' time

and the run that the shifter came off was the 14.068 the knob flying off made me miss the shift and caused me the stay in the 14 second bracket...asshole car

Your 60" are killing you. Are you spinning at the start?

You get the 60" under 2.0 with better tires and it should be in the 13's

Whats your burn out consisting of? Those Nittos need to be heated up, if you don't get a solid burnout on them your going to blow them off like you are currently. When I run Nittos, I was getting high 1.9's with a long burnout and slipping the clutch from 3500ish. They are not good track tires by any means. Get that 60' down to even 2.00 and you will probably squeak out some 13.8's.

4th is 1:1 ratio, shifting into that gear is acceptable.

Oh I know most of the 60' problem is the driver no arguing there lol I do a good burnout like i said I run 12.16 in my car with a 1.63 60' so I know it's mostly my launch. But I'm not used to racing standards not to fond of it lol but with some more practice proper tune and ...well more practice

Ya you should definatly be getting better times than that. The GTO I painted was a LS1 model and he has exhaust and some other bolt ons not sure exactly what but he has broken into high 12's. Think he hit a 12.9 or 12.85 with good tires and he tunes cars so I know it setup to run well and he has a 6spd w stock gears.

If you learn to drive a stick right you can probably be at least in the mid 13's

Its all about the launch. When I first got my bird I took her to the Midnight's. My very first run on BoneStock was 13.79. Then every other run that night was in the 14.01 area. So don't be to bummed, just practice, practice and practice some more!

This is what I thought. I was told you ideally want to be in the top of 4th, but not past it, as you cross the line.
