Question Is 13.700 a decent time?

I just took my 69 Camaro to the dragstrip for the highschool drags and It broke on my dial run. The transmission went all crazy, but I still ran a 12.6 with biasply tires!!!

Anyway I jumped in my ws6 which is completely stock and got back into the staging lanes. But they were starting eliminations, so I set my dial to 13.9. And for some reason the tower put 19.6 as my dial. So I ended up running a 13.700. Is that about right for a completely stock 98 ws6 m6?

There were 2 other ls1's there but they weren't in the h/s drags. They just came to the open practice. One was a z/28 which ran 13.85 and the other was an 01 ws6 which ran a 13.74. Both had airboxes and exaust.

Is there any way I can post a video? I believe I have both runs on my camcorder.

Those kids couldnt drive, yours sounds about right. I have seen stock LS1s do 13.2s in the 1/4. But most run 13.4-13.9 so anywhere in there is good for stock. I rans a 13.07 i have headers exhaust a lid and subframe connectors. I have an M6.

youtube, brother! it's the best. 10minutes and 100 mbs per video for free.

that's odd to hear of a younger guy keeping a new car like that stock.

I have heard that the m6's are supposed to be faster, but I think that the autos have better times at the drag strip because I found it really hard to launch a six speed just right. I think with some practice I could get it into the 13.5 range.

The video of the 69 is uploading...

It also about the track and weather, autos are better in the quarter generally and stick better at doing roll races. You can say all you want about stick or auto I have had both buddy i wont go back to auto stick is soo much more fun.

Sorry about the crappy quality, but as you can see by the smoke the trans was losing alot of oil, so the converter never quite locked up. My rpm's were at about 6,000 all the way down the track. It is a 5,000 stall convertor but something wasn't quite right.

My WS6 is bone stock. It will get an SLP lid next week though. Owned it for 6 months so far. They are just so EXPENSIVE! to keep running right that I have had 0 money for mods. Oh, I am 21.

what are you talkin about, that's one of the better vids out there...normally people put the camera down and keep shooting, or you hear them talking over it.

nice run man...you said that's a highschool thing?

yeah it was the highschool drags. All of the highschools compete to see who has the best driver/car, I did really good last year but this year i was out by the second round.
