'02 turn signal bulb socket
I was told by the dealer that these sockets melt because of the heat generated from the bulb. Well they are correct, only problem is the sockets list at $80ea. Any fixes for this problem?

Had an issue with mine a while back. Went to a junk yard and found out that they use the same socket on Grand Ams and Gran Prix models of the same period. Sort of a PITA installing but if you can splice a wire then this is an easy/cheap fix. I recommend using butt connectors to splice with since this is a permanent fix, and use terminal grease on the bulb ends.

You can get a replacement socket at auto zone...I think I paid 7.99 for it. Its on the floor in the bulb section.
