Z and SS Difference?
I might be a little slow sometimes and I think this is one of them. What is the differences between Z28s and SS? Which one is more practical to buid to race?

Black- 2000 SS Camaro M6
SS has free flowing exhaust that gives it 5-10 more hp over Z28, otherwise they're pretty much identical.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Do you believe everything you read? Take a que from Blackhawk01's post.
I don't care how many magazines tested these car's the differences between an SS and Z28 are mainly superficial, i.e., rims, suspension and exhaust. Tuner cars (Berger, Nickey, etc) are another matterLast edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 11-24-2007 at 09:35 AM.

SS has a power steering cooler, a z28 does not I believe. Not that thats a huge deal, but I know my fluid won't come puking out when it gets hot.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't trying to be demeaning or belittle you in my statement. It's just that IMHO the (original) cost of the SS vs a Z28 could be easily made up for in mods that would make the Z equal to or (more than likely) better than an SS.

Artic White- 00 SS Vert.
Ok, the article says......Adding the SS Performance/Appearance package to a Z28 delivers fiberglass cold-air induction hood, low-restriction dual exhaust system with 2-inch tailpipes..........
Everybody knows that the camaros don't have dual exhaust, right?
And the advertised 305 hp of the Z28 is underated. The 320 hp of the SS is probably true to both the Z28, and the SS.

I always wondered why there was a advertised HP difference. Since both the SS and the z28 have the same identical drive train.
So now I know that was true GM advertising garbage.
