Black- 1985 Iroc-Z
Will a 97 V6 Camaro rear end fit in a third gen??
I have an 85 Iroc and I wanted to put different gears in it. I recently blew my rear end out and put another one in that I had from another Iroc and I DO NOT like the gears. I think they are around 2.73. I also have a rear end out of a 97 V6 Camaro. I was looking to go for the 3.73's, but I read that the V6 Camaro rear end has 3.42's. Will it fit in my car with no issues? How big of a difference would I see from 3.42 to 3.73?? Any opinions?? Thanks!

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
4th gen V6 Camaro has 3.08's IIRC. It will bolt in but it's not the same width axle to axle. I forget which is longer (3rd or 4th gen) but it's like a 1" difference overall.
Also, once again, you'll probably get a better response on TGO.

Its a direct bolt-in sans the brakes. 4th gen rear discs are better anyways. I have 4th gen rear brakes in my 83. The 4th gen rear is about an inch longer on each axle tube.
