    2000 SS Black M6

    Why dont my 10.5" fit!!!!

I bought a set of chrome C6 Z06s from OE wheels.

The rears are 18X10.5, and arent even close to fitting....i would need to remove my bump stops, hammer it out, and even then, it looks like it would hit my trailing arm.

    seriously not good guys.....

a set of 295 KDWs are supposed to be going on them

the only think i can think of, is that when they put my old ones back on (9.5" i think) they didnt want to fit either...we had to set it out to tighten the lugs

is it possible that wed need to pick the rear up by the axle rather than let the suspension bottom out by picking it up on the sub frames?

You can try it, my 9.5's do get awfully close to the bumpstop when I let the suspension hang. I'm sure if I had 10.5's it would hit.

The 18x10.5 wheel needs the correct backspacing to fit. For it to fit on the F-Body it needs a backspacing of +50 to +53 mm. Higher than 53 mm will require the BFH mod. 285/35R18s thru 315/30R18. Over 295 may require rolling the fenderlip and will need the BFH. +58 mm is the typical available offset for the Z06 replica, which will require a little BFH and/or a small spacer.

I'm pretty sure the car was jacked up using the rear end so that I could do both rear wheels at the same time.

i may have them try that

i get the feeling its gonna need some help though

my issue is, the rims cant be returned if i mount a tire.

the other thing...the chrome on the rims kinda sucks...has little dots all in it.

18x10.5 will fit fine with the correct backspacing. With the incorrect backspacing it just takes some work. Do you know the backspacing of the 18x10.5's that you bought?

is the car at a tire shop or something? i would figure out how to get the wheels to fit without modification and then ship those back because of poor chrome quality.

no bfh mod needed...i just put my 10.5s on this weekend...all i did was unbolt the bump stop, and cut the mount for it out....did not have to hammer a thing. my offset is 56mm...

This is why they fit! If you dont jack it up from the axle they will hit the bump stops when trying to mount

When you jack up the car. The rim dnt fit.
But you put the car on the ground u won't have no problem.
Just be careful when you put it back on the ground.

What everyone else said. Lift from the axle. I kept my bump stops, but couldn't unload the suspension without removing the wheels.

Sounds like your not happy with the finish. Decline delivery on those puppies and ship them back.

You can make the 56mm fit like others have said. But what happens when the rear has full travel and hits the bump stop? 99.9% of the time it will not be an issue. I would not want to hit a bump or a pothole and have the rear drop. Again 50mm is the correct backspacing. Yes you can get a 56mm in there but I would not want to take the chance of a rub.. Just my 2 cents.
