Whistler mod questions!

Ive seen many people on sites do the whistler mod. I had a few questions that i couldent find answers too on previously posted forms. I see people paint different parts of the light, some just the outside, some the outside and the ridges, and some people paint the whole light black. Im personally looking to paint all but the back inside of the light. Im just wondering how much will the light be reduced if i did it like this:

Ok, i just did a practice run on one of my old Buick headlights. I followed most of the steps on the list but i only cleaned half the chrome off with steel wool. After i sprayed it with flat black and both sides look the same. Is there a benefit of taking off the chrome? Should i be using gloss or flat?

Haha, assuming you really dont know what it is, its painting the inside of your headlights. Purely cosmetic.

I had never heard of that before,,,but it sure is a confusing name for a cosmetic mod like that.

I did the vertical part of the inside housing, and left the horizontal part alone. It will be reduced since you lose light refraction surface area but hey it looks good.
