Texas Speed uses Castrol Syntec in ALL thier rides and if they use it in a TT
C6 then That is what i use with K&N oil filter

I use 10W-30 Valvoline performance (FULL) synthetic and a K&N oil filter.
Runs Great!

If I remember correctly Mobil 1 sued all the other brands because they were claiming full synthetic when Mobil 1 was still a true synthetic, but the courts said that they could say it anyway. This does not include amsoil or other high end oils but the quaker state and valvoline cheaters.

"In the late 1990s, Castrol started selling an oil made from Group III base oil and called it SynTec Full Synthetic. Mobil sued Castrol, asserting that this oil was not synthetic, but simply a highly refined petroleum oil, and therefore it was false advertising to call it synthetic. In 1999, Mobil lost their lawsuit. It was decided that the word "synthetic" was a marketing term and referred to properties, not to production methods or ingredients. Castrol continues to make SynTec out of Group III base oils, that is highly purified mineral oil with most all of the cockroach bits removed.
Shortly after Mobil lost their lawsuit, most oil companies started reformulating their synthetic oils to use Group III base stocks instead of PAOs or diester stocks as their primary component. Most of the "synthetic oil" you can buy today is actually mostly made of this highly-distilled and purified dino-juice called Group III oil. Group III base oils cost about half as much as the synthetics. By using a blend of mostly Group III oils and a smaller amount of "true" synthetics, the oil companies can produce a product that has nearly the same properties as the "true" synthetics, and nearly the same cost as the Group III oil. The much more expensive traditional synthetics are now available in their pure forms only in more expensive and harder to obtain oils. To the best of my knowledge, Delvac-1, AMSOil, Redline, and Motul 5100 are the only oils made from pure traditional synthetics."

And it is misleading as hell....however....
There is no "best" oil and filter....it all depends on your driving habits/engine mods/climate/geographic conditions etc. Any of todays dino/semi syn/full syn's will protect your motor and keep it clean with 5000 mile OCI's. Filters are all very good these days with the exception of Fram which is a POS poorly designed glued together POS.

Fram is a POS. Also, the Advance Auto "Sure Grip" (I think that's the name) is made by Fram. Another Fram POS with a different name.

I use Royal Purple 10W-30 w/ a K&N filter. I originally used Castrol Syntec and had no problems...then switched to the Mobil 1 EP full synthetic and had to change it often....I like the Royal Purple and will stay with it from now on.

wix for all filters and q state. Part store didn't have mobil one and didn't want to run all over town

What's so bad about fram?

by the way I use full synthetic Quaker state, 10w30 and I used a fram filter this last time. K&N fuel filter. one of these days I want to do a full royal purple change on everything.
