Red- 2000 Trans Am
Its hard to say, yes the 01, 02 have ls6intake manifold, but the also have the smallest cams, the heads on the 98s, dont flow as well. But if a stock 99camaro raced a stock 02 camaro and they were both stick it would be a drivers race, if the are auto it would be a little bit of a drivers race, but its like raceing alsmot the exact same car.

01-02 are a tad bit faster..nothing to really notice..as guru stated..also 01-02 exhaust manifolds flow a lil better then the 98-00.

green- 1949 chevy truck
1967 427. The Yenko was a fraud. Yenko ordered his camaros with a 427 installed at the factory. The 427 1967 camaro was a FDO. (Factory Delivered Option) It ran stock at the track and was the fastest camaro ever.

I don't think so. Yenkos and copos were mid 13 cars on street tires. The 69 zl1 was capable of 12s stock and 11s with slicks. It was underrated in at 430hp I believe but had well over 500hp. I'm not even 100% sure it was the fastest but faster then a 67 427 for sure.

Yes I have that very road test with all the tweaks they did to the car. It was an automatic version too. Mph was in the low 120's,,,,,definately making good HP.

YOu have to understand teh 67/68/69 were slow compared to LS1's.. IE 15 ish 14 ish 1/4 miles. But 14's back in thoose days were fast. People back then use to trailer 13 and 12 second cars to the track. In 69 could you buy a ZL1 option camaro from the factory yes. And yes it was a 11 second car mind you with a real good driver... skinny small back tires back then. But if you just walked on the lot and bought a 1st gen it was just not as fast as the LS1. Stock I have hear from 13.5 to 12.9 or 8 ish. Is the LS1 the King... Nope.. The small block 350 is/was the king.. The LS1 is slowly taking that over..
