The panel on my rear that you see in black with the stainless CAMARO lettering is whats referred to as the Berger panel.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
http://gmmginc.net/programs/Berger/
They originated from the Berger SS Camaros. Berger made the panels black and thats why everyone started referring to them as the berger panel. If you look at picture 4 in the link I provided, you will how the Berger cars have them.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
FYI: They did this because all 1st gen (67 to 69) SS big block (396 cid) cars had a black painted (except for black code AA cars) tail panel to distinguish them from SS small block (350 cid) cars.
Intresting 1st gen factoid: The 69 COPO 427 cars did not have this as they were (technically) not an SS car while all 427 dealer conversions that started as a 396 car did.

now theres some good old camaro trivia for you. copo 427 cars were bad as hell. hell on wheels wrapped in a plain paper bag! i wonder how many know the first z28s didnt say z28 on the car anywhere! z28 was a performance option code for the new camaro and didnt become an actual model till later in the year. it was all designed to compete in the trans am racing series. hmm. i wonder where where gm got the name for that other car in 69?

440 RWHP / 410 TQ- 2000 SLP CAMARO SS
I have never seen one on a Camaro until I joined the forum. I did not even know they had them. The first one I saw on here, I thought the guy replaced the panel due to a wreck or something. I just never understood why you would want your whole car the same color...except for the back panel????

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
I think it goes good with the manta stripe flowing to the back of the car.
Some colors look better without in IMO, but others look sick

Had someone owe me a favor, and he's painting mine flat. Should have it back tomorrow. My car is pewter BTW. Should I put Z28 emblems back on? (red bowtie and black Z28? Y2K, where did you buy your CAMARO fill ins? Plus, what color should I choose?
