What do you guys think?
There's a 92 Z28 for sale near me...auto and 157,146 miles for $1995. Do you think that's a good deal or what?

I paid $10,000cnd for mine with 140,000kms on the 350TPI (L98). Mine was in real good condition. The paint was only 10,000kms old.
The Z28's are getting hard to find. There's alot of RS's around for cheaper.

I was thinking of a dd. Yes it was the last of the 3rd gens, anniversary year even. I believe it's got the 250 but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I'm just worried about the high mileage and what it's going to bring.

From 1987-92 all the Iroc/Z28 automatics(700R4) had the 350cid (L98) and the 5-speed standards(T-5) had the 305 (LB9). Unless it's carburated, then who the fuck knows.
You should go to thirdgen.org. The message board there could really help you, you might even find a better deal on a 3rd gen if your lookin for one.

You can get a iroc/Z28 with a T-top AND the 350tpi. They just really hard to find.
Just an example - I have an autotrader that's like a year old, but i clipped a 87 Iroc 350 T-top out. It's fully loaded with exactly 4,800kms or 2976 miles.
It's appraised at $35,000. He's taking offers.
FYI my 92 is a hard top 350.

Ok Look Irocswere Made From 85 To 90 . In 85 And 86 Only 305's Werein Em Only 50 Were Special Made With 350's For Car Book Testers And Promotional Reasons . From 87 To 92 , The 350 Or 305 Were Availiable . This Is Word.check It Out. For Transmission Reasons 305's Were Put With The 5 Speed. Mabye You Could Special Order A 350 5 Speed But Thats The Only Way You Were Gonna Get It. Ssssssssoooooooooooooo The 305 Had Auto Or Manual .....the 350 Cars Were Automatic.

methdnx.........you sould probaly find out if the transmission has been rebuilt . at 157,000 it may be ready to go on to the big trans shop in the sky. depending on the paint quailty you may get it cheaper. Is the interior like 90 percent of em....ripped all to hell???? make sure and smell the trans fluid.

Any iroc after 87 could be had with either the 305 or the 350. Most mags of the time picked the 305tpi 5-speed to be the better balanced combination but the 350/4auto was faster in the quarter but not by much.
There were plenty more engine option back in those 'olden' days.
