Question What Is the big Difference? I don't see it! PLEASE RESPOND!!!

O.K. Last night I was out with some friend's. 2 car's were racing. 2000 Camaro SS and a 2002 Camaro SS. Both car's were completly stock A4's. Out of ten Races the 2000 Camaro SS took 6 out of 4 race's by less than half a car length. The other's were almost to close to call. With an LS6 intake and 241 head's, The 2002 Camaro SS should have won each race hand's down. I think all the hype over the LS6 intake and 241 heads on the 01's and 02's are all hype. There is no real performance improvement!! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I know that both car's were completely stock. Both driver's are close friend's of mine. Their car's came with all the factory options. The 02 was actually rated a 345hp. like I said I don't think the LS6 Intake is all it crack's up to be. Same said for the 241 stock head's over the 853's

both car's are well taken care of. Each car has not gone over 30,000 mile's

just because its an 02 model dont make it THAT much better. There are factory freaks out there, and maybe the guy in the 00 was a better driver. Are u sure they were stock??

It seem's like there is allway's an excuse for the LS6 INTAKE and the factory 241 head's over the LS1 INTAKE and 853 head's no matter what it is. Like I said I don't really think there is a difference

I can vouch for the LS6 intake. Didn't pick up but a tenth but I did gain 1.5 MPH on average. There were a couple of runs faster but I always go by average and on average I ganed .1 and 1.5 mph. What did the options look like on both cars and weight of both drivers? My stock A4 Z28 stripper whooped my friends 01 fully loaded SS several times.

my friend driving the 00 Camaro SS weighs about 20lbs less than my friend driving the 02 Camaro SS. Don't think that is much of a difference? I just dont know why everyone is on the LS6'S INTAKES NUT SACK giveup

Trust me, an ls6 intake is gonna free up some power, thats one of the if not THE major reason why 01/02 ls1's dyno a bit higher than any other year

Naa 20 lbs is only equivalent to 2 HP. What about options? Leather (big difference) etc. My car is close to 300 lbs lighter than a fully loaded WS6 which is the equivalent to 30 hp, and that is with 3/4 tank full washer fluid, spare and jack still in my car with 0 lightening mods.

Did they race from a dig or from a roll? If they raced from a dig you will never know unless you’re at the track and you see some ET's because one could be leavening before the other and not notice. If it’s from a roll, well rolls are for bakeries and they never turn out fair anyway. Most of the time you’re going off someone’s horn and that person is anticipating the honks.

I always thought the 98-00 had a little bit better cam and a worse intake and the 01-02 had a worse cam and a better intake. And unless both cars have been dynoed and put out the same power, i would assume one would be a little faster than the other, some engines just have a little more power than others, tolerences are closer or something like that. Just my .02
