went drag racing tonight...
best time was a 13.8 @ 105.3 mph. Only mods are LCAs, lid, catback with a cutout, LS7 clutch and new hydraulics.
I'm pretty disappointed in my driving. I can't cut a lower 60' than 2.4
for the M6 guys with mild bolt ons...what do you launch at? Street tires preferably. How much do you slip the clutch?
That and 2 out 4 runs I missed 3rd gear...
Just sucks cause the track is 100 miles from my house...so practicing isn't really something I can do often...gonna go back in a couple weeks with some friends

Practice on the street then take it to the track, then back to the street.

What kinda tires were you running?
For a manual i would suggest getting a pro 5.0 shifter
Heard lots a good things about those

That's the shifter I got, great feel. Those tires you got are pretty rough for launching at the track. At least you got out there and gave it a shot, more than alot of other people can say with fast cars. I got a 13.59 the first time in my 98 SS and I had driven other cars at the 1/4 before.
Lauching rpm is going to be different every track and even the same track week to week. like the guys said try 1500, 2000, 2500 or more depending on if it bogs or burns out. My closest track doesn't prep very good. I'm lucky if I can launch at 2000rpm on Friday night w/o burning out. At Maryland International I was able to take it to 3500rpm and launch but then my stock clutch at the time slipped a bit.

If you like also look into lous short stick or ws6 store has a nice short stick for like $25. Or you could just cut a section out of your stock one and weld it back.Heard of people doing this and it ends up the same. If mine was an M6, i would be all over that shifter. I have driven M6s and the shifter is ok, but sloppy.

Black- 2002 Camaro SS
I had a 2002 camaro ss. it had a pretty radical cam (MS4) and some mild head work that put my car at 424 hp. It had lowering springs with stock struts (horrible ride) full exhaust and some other minor mods. It was an M6 and when i had it at the drag strip with bfg street tires, I ran a 12.3 at 119mph with a 1.8 60 ft time. thats the best run i got out of it. i also had my front sway bar disconnected.

n yes, if you have an M6 car, you NEED a pro 5.0 shifter. they have limiter screws on them so that you dont over shift, (i went through 2 trannys with the stock hurst because i would overshift and mess my syncros up.) definitly invest in a pro 5.0

Look for the best line at the track to reduce wheel spin as well. Keep practicing and you should be around 13.0. Maybe take some air out of your rear tires for more traction.....

Do you have the relocation brackets for your LCA's? When you look at them with a loaded suspension, what angle are they at? Do the point towards the crankshaft of the vehicle? An aftermarket TA will also help with traction. But, basically, street tires are your worst enemy at this point.

RED 35TH ANIVERSARY PKG- 2002 CAMARO SS 35th LE
Practice make perfect for sure.. I took me alot of track passes to get my 12.8 at 108mph. Slipping the clutch is gonna take practice.. You don't need to lower your psi even tho it helps a little.. I made this run on 18's all around at 30psi on street tires, pulled a 1.98 for my 60' stock slp shifter.. You need to cut those 60's for sure to get better times. It's all in the 60'.!!

on my bolt-on z28, i launched the car at about 3000-3500rpms. and slightly slip it as i come off the line. My best time was 13.0 @ 108 and a 2.0 60' deff couldve got into 12s that night, but clutch was sticking like a mofo. tires i used were really cheap tires, kumho or something like that, 245/50/16, tire pressure was at 30psi.

Light Pewter Metallic- 2002 Camaro Z/28
i have a 2002 camaro m6. on bald continentals (mounted on c5 'vette wheels) i ran a 13.6 at 107, then a 13.9 at 99 (traction control was on) and a 13.1 at 109. i have slp longtubes, my own custom moroso spiralflow exhaust,ls7 clutch and a slp lid. this was with full interior and a bunch of junk in the ttop storage area. i didnt hold high rpms at the line, just 2500, then slipped the clutch a little and was gone on that third run. i had a 60' time of 2.02 on the third run
