Want to lower my 2000 SS
Hi there,
I have questions about lowering and wheel choice. I have a 2000 SS 6 sp convertable, 4:11s, cat back, skip shift, etc. Car runs great and I'm happy with its performance. I do not race, just enjoy semi-aggressive driving.
I am interested in lowering the car and replacing my 17" wheels with 18" Z06 wheels. I am looking for a semi-custom look without looking too far out.
There are several choices for lowering. Springs seem the simplest but I'm uncertain how much to lower. 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 etc. Any thoughts on how far to go without it looking ridiculously slammed or overly sacrificing ride quality. Is there a better way to lower without extreme cost?
Also, any thoughts on the chrome 18" Z06 wheel? I wish I had a picture to post. Any problems to going to an 18" wheel on this car? Ebay seems to have good deals on new wheel/tire combos. Are they legit? Appreciate any input.

You can lower it 1.5" without it looking "completly slammed". I have my 95 lowered with a 1.5" Eibach spring kit. Just make sure you get an alignment done after you replace the springs. If you really want to go full out, and spend a lot more money, you can lower the front with spindles and the rear with springs.

Black, Blue- 07 TBSS, 07 GSXR1000
I used the Eibach Pro kit and Kyb Agx shocks with stock wheels and stock size tires. I love the look and wouldn't use any other kit.
