V8 Roof color.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't all V8 Camaros besides the B4C have black roofs? while all V6s had body color roofs?

Nope, there was a monochrome option till 1999 that got a body colored roof.

I think it was RPO D82 and available from 95 thru 99 as a no cost option.

It wasn't a well known option. You would have to know about it when ordering it and a dealer probably wouldn't order it for a lot car. I've only seen a couple over the years.

weird, i never thought about this, all the V-8's i know of are either t-tops or verts. the only hard top i know is an LT1, 1994, then all the roofs and side mirrors were black.

mines a 96 V-6 hardtop, im color matched all the way around

mine's a black hardtop. I always thought that the black roof was a part of the Z28 package.

My SS is a hard top, I ordered it that way.

And yes, it's black.

My 2000 is also a hardtop and I ordered it. The roof WAS black, just not any more.

That T/A might have been modded like that. Definately with the 98-02 lower air box.

definately not stock.
I remember seeing one in GMHTP. I think it was a '94 and was yellow, but was owned by GM and was used as a developement mule for the WS6 package.

I believe that someone mentioned it already, but in 2002 all roof caps were black with the exception of the Limited Edition and Performance Edition cars which had body matching Bright Ralley Red bands....

In 1996 I purchased a new red Camaro SS with T-TOPS and body colored roof. The car was special ordered by the dealer to have the matching color roof. I am not sure of the option code but I know that a few were ordered this way.

I wish they would have left it on the option list for 2000.
