If you are looking for a stock 99-00 SS, the first two things that are generally modded are the stock lid and the EGR removed. The EGR tube feeds into the intake.

Look for the BIG ugly baffles on the backside of the lid. Also look to see if it has a short throw shifter if its a six speed, if so someone put it on for a reason.

stock fbodys are rare but like people above said 99% of the time the first mod people do is a new lid. as far as exhaust goes there should be no chrome anywhere on it. if you see a car with chrome exhaust tips its aftermarket. you're gonna want a set of nice dull steel tips lol. i got my car 100% stock (well besides tinted windows which actually saved me $300 so im glad). if it's a manual, drive it around and see if it has the skip shift disabled. thats another common beginning mod for manuals. when i first talked to the original owner of my car i asked him if he installed a skip shift elimanator and he looked at me like i had 2 heads and said "wait, theres a way to disable that?!" at that moment i knew the guy wasnt an underground street racer and the car wasnt abused lol.
