Time for a new motor!!!!! INPUT requested

Ok so i just installed a FAST 92/92 about three weeks ago. I thought i had a vac leak (no biggie). I havent driven the car in about 4 or 5 days and it has been raining like crazy. So i go to start it and KA BAM!!!!! CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK............. Hydro lock is a $%*&. So now its time for a stroker. Anyone have any input on what to go with? Thanks in advance.

Ya know whats kind of funny is that i am almost happy. does that sound crazy?

Does it have to be a stroker? Budget? Horsepower goals? Streetable or track only? Need a little info on your plans and what you want out of it. Plenty out there just need some more info on your part.

I figure if im gunna do it, i might as well go big. i was lookin at a LQ9, around 500+wrhp, some what steetable. If i can i would like to keep my current heads (Patriot stage 2) as far as budget, i dont really have to much money now but i dont mind buying parts over time. looking to spend $4-5k. Thanks for the input.

I guess that vac leak was on the pass side right where i've been having some water pooling. It has been raining like crazy here and it must have got into the cylinder through the leak. So as soon as i started it, it felt like the whole car jumped off the ground. My GF came out of the house because she heard it and though i hit the house. It was so loud, so i turned it off. At first i thought it was the tranny or something cuz that where i felt it. so i restarted it for about 5 sec and it is def the engine. But now its just time to look on the brite side, now i can build that stroker ive been wanting . Id like to think that everythings happens for a reason, mine is just to go faster....... Thanks for the support, its gunna be hard not being able to drive it but owell. maybe i can bum rides off other people

You could go with a v6 LOL! Just kiddin! I always though a 327 crate with twin turbo would be nice. Fast revs and light weight. Just a thought. Other wise I'd shoe horn a 502 in her and go from there. Tight sqweeze but man she'd fly!

Well, with that mentality you may as well slap a GM 572 in there and be done with it

Ummmm, did you even SEE the dyno sheet....that thing was at like 948 hp at 5800 RPM and still climbing....granted the torque began dropping off after about 4700....but, damn....and I think that was on a single carbeuretor...

I know you want to re-use those heads but you might want to tear that one down and make sure nothing came back up and pounded the cylinder head since you refired it after the initial bang.

Something else to keep in mind,,,with those heads and their tight 59cc chambers you may want to spec a short block with a dished piston to keep compression in check,,,since you are talking stroker here which figures into the compression equation,,,those 59cc chambers on a stroker with a flat top will make a ton of squeeze that may be finicky on pump gas.

With that said I'm all for the cast iron block stroker kits. With room to spare for another rebuild down the road you can't go wrong.
