Thinking about selling the SS
Hi all I am thinking of selling my 2000 SS. I am not happy about it and don't want to but I just had my first baby and things are getting tight. I am looking for opinions on what you guys think I should ask for it. It is a 2000 NBM with 60,000 it has all the power options cloth interior no ttops and an m6 with the factory hurst shifter. Mods are ls1 motor sports air lid, ram air box, granatelie maf, bassani mid length headers, gmmg cat back, skip shift eliminater, hypertech programmer and kenny brown double diamond sub frame connecters and three point strut tower brace. Thanks in advance for all input.

Well I might be able to keep it I am going to try. First we are going to sell her car(toy). Its a 72 plymouth scamp that we rebuilt mechanicaly. And we have all the body parts that are left to do, typical quater rust. Then if if things are still tight we may have to sell my car. She doesn't want me to sell it either but we gotta do what we gotta do.

Most of the time you don't get the money back out of it if your still making payments it's nice to get out from under it. I would just eat top ramen for a while.

Like said above, the way the economy is right now you wont get what its worth. If you can i would just keep it and hold off for a while and see if the market picks back up. I tried selling my 01 SS with 23,xxx miles and the best offer i got was 8500.00.
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

Thanks for all the advice. I bought it new so there are no payments and I took it off the road last year so it's not costing me anything to keep it. Hopefuly we can sell my wife's car and get cought up but I might just have to take a loss if we can't.

If you do have to sell her, make sure its local so you can visit her. Maybe even take her out once in a while. We are still talking about selling the wife right, and not the Camaro?

honestly youre prob looking at no more than $9K for that car.... as rare as hard tops are and the better track cars they make, theres not really a big market for them. im sure its a nice car, but your selling it at the worst time possible :/ good luck though

Keep the car
otherwise I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
I'll be looking for an SS soon, I was given the option of the wife or the future SS (Had one when she and I met), I'll be moving into my new place in Florida in the next couple of weeks.
But seriously, it will pain you for years if you get rid of it and don't have to, I still regret letting mine go 5 years ago. Regardless of whether the wife approves or not. And you can make Raman noodles taste pretty good with some spice.

Just wait it out if you can slide without the money. You will be much happier way down the road and wont be the stereotypical " Man I wish I didnt sell my (insert car make and model here)"

I have a 7 month old and drive my Z28 everyday. People are always telling me I have to sell it. I just look at them like they're freaking retarded. Anytime they're in the parking lot I'll rev the engine on them. If you don't drive it sell it. If you do drive it keep it.
