SS Scoop Grills
I have an "Afterthoughts" auto chrome plastic scoop grill that is starting to fade. I see a lot of nicer ones out there and I have a billet grill that I would like
to somewhat match. Does anyone know of a good source for SS hood scoop grills either polished chrome or Stainless?
Thanks

I didnt know there was anything made besides the $60 billet ones.
I thought about trying just to pry mine off and paint it silver.

There are 4 little tabs that hold it in the scoop. Take a small flat blade screwdriver and very carefully pull down and out on one side of the top of the grille. Then do the other side and it will fall out. I cleaned out the inside of the scoop as far as I could reach, then masked the area and painted the inside semi gloss black.

OK I got the new grill with the SS emblem. I really like it except there is no way
to mount it that I can figure out. It comes with two screws and two nuts but
as you know, the stock one clips in, and so do the other replacements that I have seen. Whats up with this? Anyone buy one of these? How did you mount it?
I'm sending it back because I don't want to punch a couple of holes in my scoop
as is obviously required....

couldnt you just put the new scoop over the old scoop then put the screw threw the new and old scoop then place the nut on the back side of the old scoop???

Those are the directions that emblem pros gave me to0. Fasten it to the old
grill. So I removed the old grill, Painted it red, and attached the new grill to it.
I am not sure if I like the red or not, I will have to take it out driving and check it out. If not, I think I will paint it black, and do it over. I will post some pics.
