Pewter- 2000 Camaro SS
SS Hood
Some of you may have seen my post in the Parts for sale forum. I am trying to sell my OEM hood that was barely damaged at all in an accident. Here are a couple of pictures I took.
The Body shop fought to get me a new hood because I argued with them for a good 20 minutes as to why they should replace the entire hood. Luckily, the insurance company gave in to their request to replace it.
Now I have a hood that doesn't need to be sitting around in my garage. It needs to be sitting on a camaro sucking in wind and shoving it into an intake. The hood is very easily repaired according to the body shop. As soon as the new hood arrives and gets painted underneath, the body shop is going to remove the old hood and put it in the box the new hood came in. I will then be ready to sell it.
My problem is that I need to know what it is worth. I don't want to look like a jerk and try to ask too much for it, but at the same time, I want to get the most I can for it. It is an OEM hood, so it's worth more than any aftermarket. Can someone help me out?Last edited by sills1; 03-13-2006 at 12:34 PM.

Nice hood...doesn't look bent at all. I'd say you should get at least $600 for that hood...could get more depending on the right buyer.

I thought so. His comment about it not being bent puzzled me.

I'd buy it, but I wouldn't pay any more than like $200 for it. Since I would need to get it fixed. And I don't have a lot of cash lying around
. It would be better than my stocker, and a nice transition for when I get my next hood
.
If you want to sell it for around that price let me know, I might be intrested.

Sorry graphicsgod, I'm looking to get quite a bit more than 200. I've already been offered 300 from someone in Texas. I'm looking to get 450, not a penny less. If it weren't an OEM hood, I would sell it for 200 no problem. I will post up some new close-ups of the hood on Monday. The damage is very minimal.

Does that hood come with the air channels attached or are they moulded into it?

The air channels are part of the hood underneath. It is a GENUINE GM SS Hood.
