SLP Loudmouth 2 back fire?
hey guys,
so i have 2001 camaro SS it only has a lid and an SLP cat back (loudmouth 2) and when im not in gear(m6) if i rev over about 4000 rpm she will make a crackle noise when im leting off the gas. sounds to me like a back fire but im new to LS1 .. does anybody else have this problem with LM2? is this even a problem?
thanks in advance you guys are always great help!Last edited by Maro SS; 05-24-2009 at 11:55 AM.

I have the LM-II on my car also. It has done the same thing. No worries. In the process of getting 1-7/8" Kooks LT so we'll see what that sounds like when I get her back.

I love that sound. The lm2 is to quiet for my tastes especially on a stock car. I had lm2, lm1, and now sweet thunder chambered muffler. When I put my longtubes on with ory and lm1 that thing was loud as fuck. scared old people.

i thought that happens because the cats are cold while the air pump is trying to heat them up quickly.

navy blue metallic- 2002 Camaro SS
I have a full exhaust from headers back, with just a borla muffler and freaking LOVE that sound when i pick it up to about 4500rpm and just let off.....
So you have no worries there, it's an enjoyable sound =)
I do believe you get that kind of sound strictly from our cars since I've never really heard it on a mustang or charger before.....I thought it was the firing order that made it pop when let off, but I could very well be wrong....
Anyone have any ideas?

My flowmaster axleback does the same thing. Personally i like it but im waiting for a new engine before i put a headers back exhaust. I just hope with a new engine it will still do it.
