Go with a lid and do the free ram air mod. Thats what I did, its the same thing, just not as clean looking. But, not many people are going to be taking off your lid to look at your induction box. Check out this site. Click install documents and then click "Free Ram Air"

A lid will make a big improvement, If you want some real flow get the ftra or the ssra, those kits go past the radiator and under the chin of the car. Slp cold air pac no, slp lid yes used or new for 90bucks and under, then get the ftra or ssra. The ftra or ssra can be had for 160.00 on ebay from the creators.

I like the SSRA one, but it looks like a good way to hydrolock your car.

you'de have to drive through a steep puddle. this same question was brought up in another thread. i just installed a lid and ssra not to long ago and it is definitely worth it. also the install is pretty easy.

when it rains good around here I have to go through water over a foot deep to get out of my housing tract. I can hear water sloshing against the bottom of my car.

What you do is rev the motor when you go over the puddle, it's like a game of chance. I can teach you how to play russian roulette by yourself if you want to.

just put in a block off plate between the filter and the opening of the top piece whenever it rains hard.
