is SLP the best lid to buy for my car ?
is $ 100 a good price for a SLP lid. are there any others better ?

I like my slp lid because you don't have to use a breather on the 00+ ls1 air pump hose...if you didn't gut it that is. It comes with a hole on the side like the stocker, a grommet for the hole, couple elbows and some hose to hook up with the stock hose.
You could do all that yourself but for the same price it comes already done.

that was the first thing i ever did to any car. so its pretty easy. took about 30 minutes or so. comes with good instructions. here is a writeup:

all the lids pretty much give you the same HP gains, it just comes down to look and price

the flo pack is good but the CAI (cold air induction) can kill your engine if you hit a deep puddle,
i've heard two or three stories about people hydrolocking their engines due to the CAI.

Right here son.
Only it wasnt SLP, it was FTRA.
I have the clear MTI lid. It looks pretty nice, but its getting dirty and such, but fuck it, they all flow the same just about. Not to mention, whenever I used to switch out my lid with the stocker when Id have warranty work done, I never noticed any power difference.99 T/A M6

ya, i have a mti clear also. it looks cool, but the rubber peels away and its a bitch to install, compared to some others. i like it though

i got my 02 ss with a K&N fipk already installed....but i want to put slp lid in instead....do i NEED the stock intake box to do this??
