ok so since we black, white, 35th anniversery's, etc.. i thought it would be neat to start a thread showing our "sleeper" look camaro's.

Not trying to be a butt here on this. I do have a question.. How can a 98-02 LS1 camaro be a sleeper? In stock form you can run 13.8 to 12.8. That is faster than many stock cars period. And if you run faster than 12.8 and it is not loud cool. But I guess I don't look at camaro as a sleeper car. Meaning I would not be suprise to see a camaro run fast times.

Okay a sleeper car to me is a car that you would not think is fast or looks fast. Say a 74 grandma nova but it has a 454 in it. I get your looks part. But um it is a camaro is it not?

The tires give this one away.. But what I think of as a sleeper..

It's a relatively stock looking car that will stand up with some built non-sleeper looking rides. I have had my car mistaken for a v6. All that changes when I stab the throttle.

What are the non-sleepers you have hung with? And who thought a car with headers and Magnaflow's sounds like a V6?? Even a stock LS1 does not sound like a V6.

You'd be surprised how quiet my car is with headers and a magnaflow at idle. My car has "Hung" with plenty of cars that would normally beat a stock or stock looking ls1 camaro. GTO's, Z06's, 03-04 cobras... the list is long and distinguished. I think the point our friend was trying to make was about appearances.. stock looking rides that can hang. I think you already knew that

I think for an ls1 to be a sleeper it better be well under atleast say..... 11s and look completely stock. but still everyone who races ya is going to hear you and realize somethings up

my buddy has a stock looking 98 SS. dropped a 408 stroker in it. looks stock when its sitting there with the hood popped but when he starts that thing up you now a hell of a lot better than that. runs low 12s high 11s.

ya i was meaning the appearence and i agree when u say your car has kept up with gto and cobra's because mine out ran gto's and hung with cobra's stock for stock while up at U.S. 41 drag track,i agree completely with this

I hate to break it to ya but your car didn't hang with or better yet out run 03-04 cobras stock for stock

Unless that 03-04 Cobra had mechanical issues or a completely inept driver, no LS1 with headers can "hang" with an 03-04 Cobra. GTOs are typically a shade slower than 4th gen fbodies as well.

The driver of the 03-04 Cobra could not drive worth a shit then. He probably had a 2.2 60'. Everyone on here knows, stock LS1s do not hang with 03-04 Cobras. That is fantasy land or problems with the Cobra, one or the other.

LOL. Sound cars and drivers for the 03-04 cobras. And yes that is plural... as in its happened more than once. And I know the goats are a shade slower stock. But these cars weren't stock either. I don't know about you but I'm a driver over here
