I saw pics on the news and it appeared to be a V-8 model. This is the second Fatality from an F-body in a month in my area. Drive carefully guys(and girls).

"Two Santa Fe College students were killed early Sunday morning when their vehicle overturned at the intersection of County Road 329 west of Northeast 30th Court in North Marion County near Citra as they were fleeing from a Marion County Sheriff's deputy, according to the Florida Highway Patrol."

    What a waste!
Two kids that should not have been in a fast car, maybe not even driving at all. There is a big difference between a 300+hp rear-drive Camaro and a 150hp front-drive economy car. They get behind the wheel with all that power before they have the skills to control it. And even if they have been driving a few years, its usually in a shit-box. Its not to say there aren't responsible 18 year olds, but maybe the parents of the driver should not have trusted this kid so much.
Thats a lot of regret and a lot of pain for a parent to deal with. Lost a good friend in highschool to an incident like this. Sad News!

whats the difference between a 100 mile per hour eco box..and a 100 mile per hour f-body. who is to say the kids would not have been in the same situation if hey pegged their grand am or grand prix...115 is 115

It takes a lot less time to get to 115 in an f-body than it does in a grand prix. I survived those days of drag racing and flying down country roads. Learned to drive on a 375hp Impala SS at 15, drove a 300hp Catalina I still have, 550hp Z28 at 17-had it til a couple years ago, 02 Z28, and many other daily driver pickups, suvs, and a few cheap cars. A few things I remember from being that age: I was invincible, the best thing about a fast car was driving fast, and my brains didn't always make the best decisions but my foot always found the accelerator.

you are not getting my point..it doesn't matter how long the car takes to get to the determined speed..its the will of the driver to drive at that determined speed. give a kid a prius and wants to drive 115..he will drive 115...give that same kid a f-body or corvette..he will drive 115.

you guys are missing the point that they didn't have seat belts on, thats stupider than going 100 miles per hour.

may have made it if they had belts on... who knows

Well the difference would be that the temptation to go fast is more prevelant in the more powerfull car. They also may not have been as likely to run from the cops in a 4 banger econobox that couldn't get out of it's own way.
Give a kid a choice of a V8 or the econobox and see which one he picks.

There are a ton of ways to look at it. Bottom line is their parents didn't teach them any better and now they are paying the ultimate price. Too bad.

Damn, what in the world are you doing on the streets to cause you to be thrown around in the seat to a point where you depend on the seat belt to hold you in place????? OMG!!!
