Rust under Z28 badge...
So I noticed I have a small problem. Didn't notice this when I bought the car, but soon after I spotted it. Just under the Z28 badge its starting to rust. Looks like surface rust I guess. Probably from water sitting there after it has been washed. What's even worse is that the clearcoat is starting to peel as well. What can I do? I mean its still tiny, about the height of this font and goes almost the whole length of the badge. It's definitely there though...

It can't be rust, no metal where the emblems are. Fenders and emblem are plastic. Got a Pic?

Black, Blue- 07 TBSS, 07 GSXR1000
That is what I was thinking the fenders and rear panel are plastic so they can't rust.

i am no genius but is it possible the z28 emblem itself is rusting and eating through the clearcoat making it look like the fenders rusting?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
The factory Z28 emblem is plastic also but I think I know what he's talking about. My 96 Z28 was silver and as time wore on the body molding along the side of the car (which was plastic) took on a brownish tint where the clear coat had started to degrade. It looked like you'd expect rust to look. Though I never found out what it was I knew it wasn't rust. It was still on the car when I traded it in on the 02.

does anybody have any rust under the the water grove, the lowest part of the rear window, but in between the seal and the body line. ive noticed that its brownish/ rust color and kinda scraed since the only way to dry that out is to blow dry it every time

Describe it in more detail! Have you tried touching it to see if it is the glue? Is it hard? Is it chipping off? Need more info!

So its just the badge?...It's taking the clear coat with it...Yea I tried getting it off with my finger nail. Didn't work. That's when I realized that the clear coat was coming off too. It looks exactly like rust....but it doesn't appear to bubble out like rust usually does. Maybe I should try a screwdriver to chip it off easily
