Really sorry to hear it. If it's totaled, depending on how bad it is, take the money the insurance offers you and see how much it is to buy it back. Depending on what's done to the car, if the engine and trans are still good, you could part it out and make more on it. Just an idea.

My guess is you were t-boned. Pending on the mileage of the motor. You could part it out. Like a previous post, I would weigh your options with you insurance company and see how much less they will give you to keep it. If the car was paid off, would you be willing to have a car payment and so forth.

I searched Craigslist for 2 weeks before I found mine 2 weeks ago. She aint the prettiest thing, but she runs good. I paid $3800 for her, and got a set of Z06 rims (bald tires), and damn near brand new tires on the original 16" Z28 rims, and it has 132K on it.

When they offer you an amount for your car they will low ball you. Your best bet is to find the advertised price for what Z28s are going for in that area of the country. It most likely is higher than book value. This should get you a grand or two more to help buy the next car.
What a shame about your Z28. Mine got wrecked last summer. And while the body got repaired it just doesnt feel right.
Good luck with the insurance company.

Cars.com is a good site you should check out too. You can get search specifics such as trans, color, etc and pick within how many miles of your zip code to search for. Don't settle, get exactly what ya want even if you have to wait or travel a bit further out. I have flow out and driven back, its been worth the flight cost. For just a few dollars more, you can purchase an option to cancel the return flight if you do buy and drive back and cut the airfare cost. Good luck in your search!

In times past, autotrader and yahoo autos have worked well for me, looking for f-bodies here in Georgia...
Very sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to me in my 98 TA, but the guy running the light didn't catch me square in the middle, he hit my rear fender and spun me around pretty good. Car wasn't totalled, and his insurance fixed it without hassle or issue, thankfully...
