    which rearend?

there's a special little ss booklet that came with my car along with my driver's manual and in that there's all the ss options that you can have. (it's like a checklist that i guess the dealership checks and no one checked mine off) but one of the options is an auburn rearend, and i'm just trying to find out if i have the auburn rearend, does anyone know a way i can just tell by looking. i dunno how rare or common this option is. also mines an m6 not an a4 i don't know if that would make a difference.

okay um basically which rear end is better, the torsen or the auburn, i dont know a lot about rear ends. Also, out of the rear ends that come stock with the car, how many bolts is the better one?

The auburn rear end has a aluminum cover and i actually hate the aburn. I had the auburn in my previose f-body and at the track it locked up and twisted my drive shaft into. My advice if you are going to the strip then replace the auburn. Also i beleive the auburn cover has AAM or something like that on it.
