Rear Lighting Delete - Wiring Questions

Has anybody torn apart or dealt with their tail lights and brake lights? I would like to have a switch available to disable my tail lights all together. It would be most practical if the switch is within arms reach of the driver.

Has anyone done this or have any ideas for me? Thanks for the help.

Its actually pretty easy. We just did it on my friends civic a couple days ago.

We put 1 relay in line with the wires going to the tail lamps and another relay in line with the wires going to the brake lams. Then we just ran the two relays in series with a switch and hooked them up to 12v with a new fuse in the fuse block. Works flawlessly....you could even do reverse lights and turn signals if you wanted to...probably not necessary though.

My first thought was definitely in the illegal direction, I was thinking along the lines of running from the cops, I can manage in the dark with no headlights, but tail lights are a give away.

Take your punishment like a man

I'm too old and have too much to loose by running from the cops. I rarely do anything that would get me in a situation like that anyway.

That guy with the car Nyphodoria did something like that..i forget his name...

big thread about it. I did it in my truck. Run a toggle switch to one of the wires in your brake switch on the pedal.

Mine was for black out drive. It already had factory blackouts tho.
