Rear Finish Panel 0r "Berger panel"

Could you guys tell me how to take off the rear finish panel or "berger panel" on my 98 z28? Sorry to ask such a question but I have a screwed up back and have to explain to my friend how to do it-and he isnt very mechanically inclined (but a good friend willing to do it for me). If you have any pictures or dia grams that would make it easier that would be great. I also have to take off the one tail light on my car also so any hints on that would really help me out. Thanks in advance.

ok, the tail lights are held on by 2 plastic wingnut things. just take those off and they'll come out, unhook all 4 lights (try to remember where they all go) after both taillights are out, there will be 4 small 10mm nuts holding the berger panel on. 2 are on the edges, close to the fenders, the other 2 are mabye a foot or 2 on each side of the hatch latch. Just take those 4 out and it will slide right out. just make sure to do it gently, because its bulky and you could drop it on your bumper and scratch something. I've had mine out multiple times, just look around and use common sense, its really not that hard once you check it out. good luck!

Man its been a pain in the ass trying to get ahold of a black finish panel. I found some with the help of a member here(4 of them) but that kinda fell through because the guy said hr would send pics but never did. Then I found one on ls1tech but the guy sold it after I told him I wanted it(real nice guy huh?) O well the hunt continues........

I will take some pics of it. Its minimal -just a couple BB holes with the white fiberglass exposed. I didnt want to put any bondo filler on my car so I opted for a new panel-plus I didnt want to pay to repaint. I found a place $45 shipped and it should be on the way.
