Angry R.I.P. 1999 Camaro SS... Totaled.

Well its true. It had just rained and there may have been patches of ice on the road. I was driving home and was on a 4 lane hiway and was manuvering around a slow car goin about 40-45 in a 55, i got around him. as i was in the in front of him in the right lane(he was in left lane). my back end slid to the right and pointed me to the other side of the road, i let off the gas and it slid to the other way toward the ditch. I pressed the brakes and hit the ditch with my back left tire ( tearing it off) and fliped end over end in the air. I landed on the front right and rolled in to the building. My speed before sliding was 65-70mph.

Here are detailed pics of the crash... LOOK AT POST #5

Yes it is. It was stupid of me to even drive that night and i should have drove the truck, only if it got more that 12 miles to gallon.

anyway everyone is fine, just minor bruises and cuts.

( how do i show all the pics then, i think there are 20 of them?).

Ya, no kidding. We were all very lucky. We all had our seatbelts on and fortunatly a mailbox broke the back window or we would not be able to get out.

Well, i have FULL coverage on the car, so insurance will buy the car back from me ( i guess). i will save up for another car most likely another Camaro....

I think i will wait a bit before i get another one.

you can buy it back from the insurance for cheap, and you may be able to sell enough parts off the engine trans etc to make a bit of extra cash, but its a hassle if you dont have a place to tear it down or keep it

Yep thats the problem. NO room.

We already have 1 travel trailer, 2 trucks and had 4 cars (before the crash), we are trying to sell two of them.

Damn man, glad you're ok. Nasty ass crash. I did note however, the cleanest part of your car is your white unscratched oil filter in the 3rd to last pic...

Sorry for your loss, but glad all of you guys are still with us.

When I totaled my vert out, I bought it back and made an extra $1000 parting it out and keeping what I wanted, but it was a huge hassle and not sure if it was worth that $1000 or not.

Some parts of the car were ok, I got the floor mats out and the cloth trunk lid, and a few misc. stuff. the front right strut and tire Really mashed up against the block so i dont know if much is salvagable, and the drivetrain took quite a shock.

Im going to get the money back from the insurance company for what the car was worth before the crash (not blue book value). and save up to buy another Camaro (prefrably an SS) . I should get back more than I paid.

Thanks for the concern guys, it means alot.

Sorry for your loss man. You should be thankful to the man upstairs that you got out fine from this one. I think that losing the ss feels like losing a good friend or something very valuable. Sorry again and good to have you with us.

Thanks! ya I prayed and thanked god alot that night. The car was VERY special to me and I did my best to take good care of it...... My greatest fear and worry was not the car, but the people that were with me.

The car can be replaced. My Friends cannot be.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Those photos scared me, and since the freezing and etc is about to come my way, it was a wake up call.

It's amazing that yall were all ok, and no one was killed. It's very sad to hear about the car, but it's great to hear that you and your friends are ok. Yall were really being looked out for that night!

    Take care!
