    quick question about an ss

I have a silly question, Im new to the ls1 cars and found a 99 camaro ss I like but am not sure if its real, I seen a pick of the window sticker and it says "ss performance package" does that mean its a true ss or that someone added the performance package to a z28 car! Forgive me as im new to the website and ls1 cars. Thanks!

The for sure way to tell is either by the VIN or the RPO code on the door.

Someone else will chime in on the RPO code designation. I can't recall it off-hand.

WU8 is the RPO code for a true SS

Y2Y is the RPO code if it had any SLP add ons, which would be on a seperate sticker on the passenger door.

The sticker is on the inside of the driver's side door. When you open the door, it's right there. Have them give you the RPO code.

Here is an example I found on the web:

And I probably can't run the VIN anymore because the vehicle is too old, so I can't help you there. I would ask for a picture of the RPO code sticker to be sent to you so you can verify options.
