    QTP cutout

I have a 2001 Camaro with Longtubes, no cats and the borla adjustable exhaust. I love the way the car sounds but at times its a bit loud. What I was wondering is if I bought the QTP cut out how much you think it will quiet it down? All feed back is welcomed but obviously feed back from someone with a similar setup is preferred

The cutout will not quiet it down. It is used to dump the exhaust prior to it going into a muffler.

I have a QTP E-cutout and love it. It's great to piss off the neighbors at 6am or 2am when I come home from the track.

JK I don't shit in my bed like that.

If you're looking to quiet it down some then you need to look at a product called FatMat or Dynomat. Both do the same thing, just the FatMat is about half of Dynomat.
They're a sound deadner that you can lay under the carpet and panels to absorb quiet a bit of sound and rattles. It did quiet mine down enough that with windows up and on Hwy speeds I can talk without raising my voice on my cell phone. But 90% of the time I have my tops off so hearing the rumble is music to my ears.

I personally love the sound but i don’t want to piss my neighbors off. I like to drive it to work on occasion but 6:00am cold starts probably won’t be appreciated. Lol.

That's what is great about the e-cutout. I have a button I push to open/close it whenever I want.

Does it provide any real benefit to HP gains - NO, minimal at best.

    Cool/Fun factory 1000%

It's great to drive up into a car meet and have them open. Head turner for sure.

If you do get one there are a few things you need to know how to do. I highly recommend having the outlet pipe welded in, you could band clamp it but it tends to be a PITA. The weight of the motor and the vibrations can let the pipe rotate and next thing you know your ripping the cutout off.

On our cars the perfect spot is under the rear passenger seat. It's like it's supposed to be there. You can run the wires up through the grommet that's there and down the center consul. My switch sits next the the line lock where if you have TCS would sit. I don't so I got it placed there. A couple of wire connections and your good to go. if you need some picks let me know.

I can say QTP has been real solid for me.
