They edited that move a crap ton... I wonder if thats the real results cause if you look at 1:25 seconds there is a camaro on the right side of the mustang but when they go to outside view the camaro is on the left. But the way that they pulled from the challenger is pretty sick

Wow I was expecting better from the Challenger but then again it is heavier than the other two.

the v6 stang is pretty quick as well in the 13s

From what I understand, because of the trans/rear gearing, the weight difference isn't going to be a huge advantage for the new Mustang because it's going to need an extra shift in the quarter compared to the Camaro.

The Mustang doesn't look like it has the Brembo brake package nor does it have the summer tires, not a fair comparison.

Yeah I think its going to be a drivers race.

That was an excellent article though. They also hinted that the Camaro was starved for air at the top end.

I wonder what kind of air box improvements are out there already and how much they help?

Well I looked up the intakes... They want $350 - $450!!!! Supposedly add 15 horsepower and 10 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels though.

when you are talking anything running in the 12s , its a drivers race , shift points , gears, and just driver knowledge of the car ...

Car&Driver just had their runs, 13.2 1/4 for the 5.0 stang and 13 flat for the SS (both 6-speed manuals). They blamed the smaller tires and extra shift on the new stang with 3.73's for why it did not spank the Camaro.

Did they test it with the summer tires or the all season tires? A couple tenth difference there.

Both cars on pirelli P-zeros, 255/40/19 for the stang. 275/40/20 on the SS.

What?

I simply said the Mustang GT was on All-season tires while the Camaro was on Summer Performance tires, that test wasn't all that fair IMO. Mustang could have done a bit better if it was on the Summer Performance tires and was equipped with the Brembo brake package.
