    Plugs and wires for a 1999 Z28

I have a 6-speed 1999 Z28. Mostly stock, except for exhaust, K&N, and a couple of other small things. However, the spark plugs and wires need replacing and I was wondering which to get. I'd like to slowly upgrade the car, and don't want to go stock again. Would 8.5mm be ok, or should I go 10mm? Brand? Just need to know a few things before I order.

The MSD 8.5 wires are favorites around here, I have them on my car and they get the job done.

+1 on the MSD wires. You can bend the boots to gain additional clearance, or run DEI wire boots like I do on our car. Use a dab if dielectric grease in the plug boots to help seal out moisture and aid in future removal. Upon installation of the new wires, you should hear/feel one "click" on the plugs and two "clicks" on the coil packs.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna order those MSD 8.5's (found them for $62.96 shipped). As for the spark plugs, I'm looking at NGK G-POWER PLATINUM. With shipping they're $33.65. Those should be ok, no?

A lot of people here run NGK TR55's or Autolite 103's. I've done the TR55's and I'm now running 103's, it's been a while since I last had the Tr55's that I honestly don't remember a difference but they both work great!

If I recall, FBJ posted some good info on spark plugs a while back. He had issues with the NGK heat ranges and found that the Autolite plugs were more accurately rated, or something to that effect. An Iridium or platinum plug costs more and the only real advantage is longevity over other plugs.
