2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
Plans for my LS1 build
So I have my 2000 SS, and me being me, I cant leave anything alone, so just like all the rest of you, I'm going to be tinkering with the LS1 a little.
I'm don't want to go extreme, I want to be able to tell people what I've done to it, and the list not be a mile long, and if/ when I sell it, I want to be able to sell is as an upgraded car, not a race car, or a project, or whatever.
I'd like to get 400rwhp, but If I cant get there, not THAT big of a deal.
Up front, I've always liked the open style of the Volant intake, that's probably what I'll get.
Next is an LS6 intake, it came with the car, its sitting in my bedroom corner, I need to swap my knock sensors so hey, its free, and I gotta do it anyway.
Under that, LS6 heads, they're a simple swap, cheap, and if i port/ polish them, they flow pretty damn good.
Cam I'm still undecided on, I could just go all out with this LS6 thing and get that cam, or go a little hotter, but I def don't want something too crazy.
I've already got PaceSetters in my closet, not real sure what I want to do after that.
So here's the list.
Volant Intake.
LS6 manifold
LS6 heads- ported and polished.
Some cam
Full exhaust.
Tune.

been looking around, and the patriot LS6 stage II heads are looking pretty tempting

Well with the Volant, asp pulleys, qtp lt's with ORY, slp power flow cat back and a ls6 intake, ported tb, and granatelli maf with a over rich dyno tune my 98 A4 put down 339hp on a dynojet dyno. I have a slp oil pump, patriot dual spring kit, manly rods, a jp double roller timing set and a TSP MS3 cam with the 113lsa and a circle D 3200 stall going in as I type the car will be finished and retuned Friday and I can tell you how streetable that cam is when I het it Friday and should have it on a mustang dyno Saturday to get some numbers. I also tossed in some 3.73's a few months ago.
Ported heads are on the list with a new axle. The car also has full suspension from UMI, spohn, BMR and KYB AGX's.
I'll see how close the numbers are to what you want since we have pretty much the same car your just adding heads so it will give you.more HP than me.
