    Exclamation pinging noise at high rpm

    My 02 z28 basicly stock with an slp air lid, M6 trans has been making a wierd pinging noise at high rpm. not so much in first gear but especially in second and third. I did a full tune up on it spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, PCV etc. Still happening, I also tried a octane boost and i always run 93 octane. still happening. any suggestions or thoughts would GREATLY be appreciated.

    Sounds like bad gas... Has your ecm been reprogrammed ? I wonder if the low octane tables are to high...

    I use HP Tuners with a lap top PC, but there's EFI Live, LS1 Edit, and so on...
    So, back to your problem, I guess you don't know if the computer has been modified ? Mainly the timing tables... If you did get a tank of bad gas, add some dry gas additive and go to a different gas station !
